Inspiration from Song
The 'Moving On' Challenge:
I'm Moving On is a song that speaks of moving on from past regrets, finding peace, and getting on with the business of living.
Spike/Willow: I initially envisioned this as wonderful Willow story. My original idea was a post-'Tabula Rasa' Spike/Willow story in which Willow becomes very ill when she is forced to stop using magic 'cold turkey' and is compelled to turn to the AI gang for help. Giles finds out what has happened to Willow and is horrified; he explains that the magic Willow uses is natural and necessary, though she needs lessons in control, and that not using it and allowing the power to build up could have devastating, if not fatal, consequences. Giles goes to LA to assist the AI gang with helping Willow. Spike, of course, realizes the error of his ways (ie, drops Buffy like a hot potato) and also heads to LA to help Willow.
Slash: Since I've moved into the realm of slash, I see it as a great opportunity for a Xander [Spike/Xander] or a Wesley [Angel/Wesley] story, or possibly a Blair [Jim/Blair], or a Daniel [Jack/Daniel], or a Michael [Brian/Michael], or whatever character you think has demons they need to vanquish (literally or figuratively *g*) to be able to move on, story.
~NEW~ The Back-to-Harsh Challenge:
Spike: Again, I initially envisioned this as a Willow/Spike story, though my focus has now shifted to Xander/Spike. You could probably write this challenge with any Spike pairing, or none. The idea is that Season 5 or 6 Spike (and whatever other character you want to pair him with, if any) are sent back to the season 4 episode 'The Harsh Light of Day' at some point before Spike loses the Gem of Amara. Knowing what he knows now, what does Spike do differently? What does the Scooby sent back in time with him do? Spike's reaction would be affected by whether Spike is already paired with the person you sent back in time with him. Maybe. *eg*
